CLASSES AT WEX:
The Women’s Exchange
SELF COMPASSION:
Ten weeks January 17-March 20, 2012
1:00 to 2:30 pm
The research by Dr. Kristin Neff, author of "Self Compassion: Stop Beating Yourself Up and Leave Insecurity Behind" indicates that people who are compassionate toward their failings and imperfections experience greater well-being than those who repeatedly judge themselves. We will be sharing our experiences each week through the exercises in the chapters.
THE MINDFUL PATH TO SELF COMPASSION:
Freeing Yourself from Destructive Thoughts and Emotions
Nine weeks April 3-May 29, 2012
1:00 to 2:30 pm
Christoper Germer, Ph.D. is the author of the above book we will be discussing and applying to our lives. As he says "we all want to avoid pain but letting it in-and responding compassionately to our own imperfections, without judgment or self blame-are essential steps on the path to healing".
This book offers creative, scientifically grounded strategies for putting self compassion into action.
